Photos and videos from the late mother of Afrobeat musician Ayodeji Balogun, often known as Wizkid, have surfaced on social media.
Juliana Balogun, née Oshineye Dawodu Olowosago, passed away on August 18.
Earlier, a video of Wizkid, together with other members of his family, carrying candles in memory of the dead at the candlelight parade went viral.
The singer’s family is now attending the wake and tributes for the dead, which is taking place at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, and Casino, 6-8 Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The funeral service takes place on Friday, October 13 at RCCG City of David COD Church Road, Dideolu Estate, off, Ligali Ayorinde St, Victoria Island, Lagos. at 10 a.m.
Wizkid was born on July 26, 1990, in Surulere, Lagos, into a polygamous family with a Muslim father and a Christian mother. His father had three marriages.
Wizkid’s mum was a frequent presence at his performances and gatherings.
Her husband, M.O Balogun, and four children, Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Osunkoya, Olubusayo Balogun, Ayodeji Balogun (Wizkid), and numerous grandchildren survive her.
