Why My Father-In-Law Became My Enemy – Mohbad’s Wife Discloses
Omowunmi Aloba, the late Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, has spoken up about her father-in-law’s troubled relationship.
According to Naija News, during the controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death, the late singer’s father, in a series of interviews, spoke about the feud between him and Omowunmi, seeking a DNA test for his grandson.
Omowunmi stated before the Lagos coroner’s inquest on Tuesday that her relationship with her father-in-law, Oladimeji Aloba, worsened following the birth of her son, Liam.
She told the coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, that Mohbad’s father grew enraged with her when she refused to hold Liam’s naming ceremony in Ikorodu.
Mohbad’s father, according to Omawunmi, thought she was pushing a gap between him and Mohbad, which strained their relationship.
She stated: “I used to have a very good relationship with my father-in-law before the birth of my son, Liam. In fact, I used to invite him to our house on many occasions.
“But because Mohbad was angry with him over some of the things he was doing and his refusal to hold our son’s naming ceremony in Ikorodu, he became angry with me, thinking I was the one behind it all.
