Why isn’t Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante playing for France at the World Cup?
FRANCE begin their World Cup campaign against Australia in Qatar, but there will be a void in the French midfield with N’Golo Kante unable to board the plane.
Didier Deschamps announced his 26-man roster for the competition on Wednesday, with the Chelsea midfielder missing out.
Kante was a key member of France’s World Cup-winning team in 2018, playing every minute for the national team at the age of 27.
Four years later, the development of youthful talents such as Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni has increased Kante’s fight for a spot in the midfield.
