‘Whatever It Costs’ ‘Guys, This Dude Isn’t Better Than Partey’ Fans Discuss Arsenal’s Interest In £75M Rated Midfielder

Arsenal remain frontrunners to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, according to reports in the English media.

The Gunners had two bids turned down for the Ecuadorian during the January transfer window but he is expected to be available this summer.

It has been claimed that Brighton may demand as much as £75m for Caicedo but, when asked how much they would spend on the player, fans on Twitter offered up a variety of responses:

Rice is expected to be a higher priority target than Caicedo

Although Caicedo is still believed to be on Arsenal’s radar, manager Mikel Arteta’s number one midfield target is West Ham’s Declan Rice.

A bid for the 24-year-old is expected to be lodged after the Conference League final on Wednesday. There are, however, still doubts over whether the Gunners can match the midfielder’s asking price.

It has been reported that the Hammers will demand between £100m and £120m for Rice, which is said to be well above Arsenal’s valuation.

Caicedo could, therefore, be a backup option, although it is unlikely that the Ecuadorian international will be much cheaper.

Chelsea are also known to be very keen on snapping up the 21-year-old so that could complicate matters further, although it has been suggested the midfielder would favour a move to the Emirates due to the fact that the Gunners will be playing in the Champions League next season. We shall see how this transfer story develops.
