The yellow submarine happens to be one of the most underrated teams among those that got to the Champions League quarter-final and most especially when the draw was done in which they came out to be facing the Bundesliga giant, Bayern Munich.

At this point, nobody was a seeing Villarreal to be a major stumbling block for the Bundesliga side because of the quality players Bayern are having in their team currently, they are full of talents and experience.

In the first leg of the quarter-final, Bayern Munich was unable to win or get a draw against the Unai Emery side when they travel to Spain and they lost 1-0 to Villarreal.

That is okay, one would think there is no way Villarreal would have survived playing at Allianz Arena because going to the Bundesliga backyard to play is surely going to be a problem.

The second leg was started with a good performance by the home side because they were seeing so much of the ball than their opponent but the first half of the game ended 0-0 as none of them could find the back of the net.

At this point, Bayern Munich was still down with a lone goal in the first leg, 0-1 at that time.

The former Arsenal boss was able to organize his team so well to prevent Bayern from causing more damage and it looks like they will be playing a 1-1 draw on the aggregate and therefore go on extra time but there was a substitution as the Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze came in to replace Arnaut Danjuma on the 84th.

It paid off as Chukwueze leveled on the break in the 88th minute, giving Villarreal the lead on aggregate and a historic triumph over the six-time European champions.

Some of the Bayern Munich fans are already calling for the sack of coach Julian Nagelsmann, saying the defeat was unacceptable and disgracing.

On the other side in the camp of Unai Emery, it was all but jubilation and Dani Parejo was so critical of the Bayern Munich manager.

Speaking to Movistar+ after drawing 1-1 in Munich in the second leg on Tuesday night to progress, Parejo said: “Nagelsmann said he wanted to decide the tie in the first leg.

“I think he disrespected Villarreal and football. Sometimes when you spit up, it falls on your face.”

In the final four, they will play the winner of Liverpool’s match against Benfica, which Jurgen Klopp’s team presently leads 3-1 on aggregate.
