Rasmus Hojlund of Manchester United has been included to the 25-man shortlist for the Golden Boy award.

The Danish international joins three other Premier League players on the list: Chelsea’s Levi Colwill, Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, and Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.

Hojlund joined United from Atalanta for £72 million in the summer and has made an immediate impact, scoring three goals in his first eight games.

In what has been a disappointing start to the season, the 20-year-old has been one of the few bright spots, refusing to shirk the burden of spearheading United’s attack.

What exactly is the Golden Boy award?

Tuttosport, an Italian publication, awards the honor to the finest young footballer under the age of 21. The shortlist is narrowed down by public voting, but the winner is chosen by journalists from around Europe.

Gavi from Barcelona received the award last year. However, because he has previously won the competition, the Spanish international is ineligible for 2023.

Who is the favorite to win the award in 2023?
