Three Chelsea players have been photographed returning to training in a major boost for Pochettino ahead of the Arsenal match
The Senegalese international underwent a minor wrist procedure during the international break, but he looks to have recovered well after returning to full training on Monday.
There is also good news on Axel Disasi and Armando Broja’s fitness ahead of Saturday’s clash at Stamford Bridge.
France called up Disasi last week, but it immediately became clear that he would be unable for international service.
The defender has been spotted with strapping on his thigh in recent games, and it is believed that the 4-1 win against Burnley aggravated an existing ailment.
The French Football Federation (FFF) announced after a scan that Disasi had torn a muscle, putting his participation against Arsenal in risk. He has, however, returned to the gym to workout on an exercise bike. We’ll have to wait and see whether it means he’ll be ready to play this weekend.
Albania returned Armando Broja home, implying that he had also suffered an injury of some type. Given how long the striker had been away, that would have been a significant blow, but those fears were allayed when he was photographed in the gym alongside Disasi.
Which Chelsea players will be available to face Arsenal?
Jackson appears to be eligible for selection, and there is optimism that Reece James and Benoit Badiashile will be fit for action as well, having returned to contact training before the international break.
Cole Palmer’s situation is more precarious due to a dead leg he received while playing for England’s Under 21s. As a precaution, he did not play against Ukraine on Monday night.
