“They Will Get It Done…” David Ornstein Reveals What Sources Are Telling Him About Arsenal’s Chances Of Sealing 87M Deal

The Athletic reporter David Ornstein claims that some of his sources are confident that Arsenal will sign Mykhaylo Mudryk during the January transfer window.

While the journalist wouldn’t go out on a limb himself and say that the deal will go through, he did say there are plenty of people who believe that the Ukrainian international will move to the Emirates next month:

“There are some people you speak to in the industry who think they will get it done. The Kroenkes are backing Edu as Technical Director and Mikel Arteta as manager to make this big final push in the last six months of the season to win the title.”

Other clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have been credited with an interest in Mudryk but the Gunners are thought to be the favourites to land the 21-year-old.

The big stumbling block is the transfer fee. Shakhtar Donetsk have publicly stated that they want as much as €100m (£87m). Privately, though, some think that they will settle for a proposal in the region of £60m.

From Ornstein’s remarks, it appears Arsenal’s owners are willing to put their money where their mouth is in January to seal a deal for Mudryk.
