“There Is No Official Offer…” Director Makes Shock Arsenal Claim As Doubts Are Raised About 13M Transfer

Real Valladolid sporting director Fran Sanchez has denied reports that Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have had bids accepted for right-back Ivan Fresneda.

It has been widely claimed that the two teams had tabled offers in the region of €15m (£13m) for the player but, while Sanchez admitted that talks have taken place with unnamed teams, he refuted suggestions that “official” proposals” had been submitted:

“(Fresneda) has aroused the interest of many teams, but we have not received an official offer, but it is true that several clubs have contacted us and that interest of many clubs is real, but there is no official offer. We are not desperate trying to sell the player”

Considering the likes of Fabrizio Romano and others have said that bids have been lodged for Frenseda, it is rather surprising to hear Real Valladolid’s denials.

There is a possibility that the offers have been made through Frenseda’s agent, which may provide some explanation as to why Sanchez says there have been no “official” proposals.

However, if that turns out to be the case, Arsenal’s move for the 18-year-old could still be hijacked. It is believed that, in addition to Dortmund, the likes of Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle, Leeds, Brentford, Fulham, Southampton and Wolves have also been keeping tabs on the defender.
