Idowu Owohunwa, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, has stated that there is no proof tying Nigerian artist Naira Marley and his companion, Sam Larry, to the unfortunate death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
This was announced by Commissioner Owohunwa at a news conference on Friday.
According to the Commissioner of Police, extensive investigations revealed that Naira Marley and Sam Larry were not in Nigeria at the time of Mohbad’s tragic death.
In his comments, the Commissioner did reveal another disturbing revelation. Sam Larry, Naira Marley’s companion, appears to have had violent altercations with Mohbad previous to the singer’s murder.
Sam Larry confessed to physically approaching Mohbad over a disagreement involving a considerable sum of N2million, which the dead artist reportedly collected for his mother’s funeral expenses but failed to fulfill on his performance obligation during the occasion, according to Owohunwa.
There is proof that Naira Marley and Sam Larry had no involvement in Mohbad’s killing.
“Documentary evidence shows that both Naira Marley and Sam Larry we’re not in the country during the singer’s death.
“However, there are electronic evidence that Sam Larry bullied the singer, this he admitted.
“Sam Larry admitted to physical assisting of Mohbad over the two million naira the singer collected for his mother’s burial but failed to perform during the event.”
