Barcelona, the La Liga heavyweights, are apparently keeping a close eye on Hector Bellerin’s unclear status at the Emirates Stadium.
The 27-year-old Arsenal defender is in the final year of his current contract and was left out of the lineup that faced Crystal Palace last Friday.

Bellerin has slipped behind Cedric Soares and Takehiro Tomiyasu in the Emirates pecking order, and the North London club is expected to authorise his departure in the coming weeks.
During a good loan stay at Real Betis last season, Bellerin set up five goals in 32 appearances for Los Verdiblancos in all competitions.

The right-back is said to desire a return to Manuel Pellegrini’s side, but Betis are trying to come up with a financial deal that will please the Gunners.

As a result, the North London giants may capitulate and cancel Bellerin’s contract, allowing him to return to Betis for free, with the player’s agency now in negotiations with the club about such a scenario.

However, no agreement has yet been reached between the two sides, and as a result, rumors in Spain claim that Barcelona is preparing to make a play for the ex-La Masia talent.

Bellerin left Barcelona in 2011 to join Arsenal, and La Blaugrana may be looking for a new right-back after failing to entice Cesar Azpilicueta away from Chelsea.
