Roy Keane Pinpoints “Big Moment” That Could Prove To Be The Making Of Heavily Criticised United Star

Manchester United legend Roy Keane is hoping to see plenty more tap-ins from Antony after the Brazilian opened the scoring against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The winger has often been criticised for being more style over substance since his £86m move from Ajax in the summer. However, Keane believes that, if he can begin to arrive late in the box and get on the end of crosses and rebounds, it will hold him in good stead:

“It’s vital to get those types of goals. We’ve been critical and he’s got to get in there a little but more and have that hunger and desire. As skillful as he is, these are important moments. To get on the end of it and get a tap in, it’s a big moment for him. We saw the brilliance of him for the second goal, but doing the basics like following shots, players have got to do that because these are big moments.”

Antony’s performance at the City Ground was right up there with the best we have seen from the 22-year-old since his move to Old Trafford.

As Keane mentions, he was also instrumental in United’s second goal, as he delivered a neat reverse ball, cutting open Forest’s defence, and allowing Diogo Dalot to seal a 2-0 victory for the Red Devils.

Whether something has finally clicked for Antony, in terms of his role in this United team, we shall have to wait and see.
