Real Madrid got perfect revenge over Chelsea

The last time the two sides met, it was in the champions league like this last season and Chelsea won the first meeting by two goals to nothing at Stanford Bridge in London (2-0).

Going to the return leg in Spain, it was a good game for Chelsea as well because they were able to get a goal and held Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw

They later went on and on winning matches and finally securing the Champions League trophy which makes it the second one they have won in history.

Real Madrid Got Their Revenge

It was a very good night for the Spanish European giant as they went to Stanford Bridge and stamped a perfect win, winning 1-3 away from home.

Chelsea boss, Tuchel kind of saw this coming after an unexpected defeat in the English Premier League against Brentford, losing 1-4 to them at home.

He said in an interview after the match against the Bees that he hopes that the result is not a bad omen for the Real Madrid match ahead.

Tuchel already saw a tough match coming because of the shock against the Bees.

On that night it was a show-off for Karim Benzema, he put three goals at the back of Chelsea’s net, this has already given them a better chance over Chelsea going into the second Leg that leads into the semi-finals.

Despite home possession, it was the visitors who had the far greater penetration and Karim Benzema pounced with two incredible headers in the space of three minutes, first a powerful effort after a one-two with Vini Jr, then a well-directed effort back across goal and in from Luka Modric’s cross.

Kai Havertz scored a fine header of his own to reduce the gap, but a terrible defensive blunder right after half-time saw Benzema roll in his hat-trick and re-establish the two-goal lead – which the Spanish side maintained despite a slew of second-half efforts from the Blues.

Chelsea cannot be entirely ruled out of the second leg as they are the current European Champion, and in the first leg in London, they gave in a real fight because they had more of the ball.

They even got to the dangerous area the most but couldn’t convert more than one of their chances which lead to their woes.

Real Madrid is a big mountain for the blues to climb because  Bernabeu is not an easy place to get a win and not so many teams have been able to overturn such a goal margin most especially in the Champions League finals.

We will surely be looking forward to seeing how it turned out to be in the second leg in Spain.
