Petit Backs Arsenal To Make Shock Move For “Miserable” Chelsea Star Who Could Replace Gabriel Jesus

Ex-Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has urged the Gunners to make a move for Christian Pulisic during the January transfer window.

Petit says that the American international is clearly unhappy with his playing situation at Stamford Bridge and he believes the winger could help reinforce Arsenal’s frontline while Gabriel Jesus is out injured:

“You could see with Pulisic like he was playing with revenge. He was so good for the USA and he deserves to play regularly at another club. I think he’s the exact kind of player that Arsenal need. Now that Gabriel Jesus is out I think he’d be a great option. Just like Hakim Ziyech, you can see his head is not with Chelsea right now and seeing them both miserable – they don’t deserve it. Both players have played so well”

MIkel Arteta’s side have been linked with Pulisic in recent weeks, with Manchester United having also been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old.

However, from the sound of things, the Gunners are prioritising a move for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhaylo Mudryk. Both David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano believe an approach for the Ukrainian international is likely next month.

With Shakhtar said to be demanding around €60m (£51.4m) for Mudryk, there is a chance that Arsenal could be priced out of a move. With it being suggested that Pulisic could be offloaded for around £35m, the American may be seen as a cheaper alternative.
