Ornstein Confirms Arsenal Have Reached “Agreement” With “Top Prospect” With Contract Set To Be Signed

Arsenal have reached an “agreement” with holding midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

The trusted journalist claims the “top prospect” will sign a new “scholar contract” keeping the teenager at the Emirates until the end of the 2024/25 season:

Lewis-Skelly is an England Under 17 international and he has also impressed for the Gunners at Under 18 level this season, catching the eye with his performances in the FA Youth Cup.

The 16-year-old has faced senior opposition in the EFL Trophy, having come on as a substitute in the group game against Northampton and the second round tie versus Stevenage.

There is a still a way to go before Lewis-Skelly is considered for his first-team debut but he has committed his long-term future to the Gunners. As Ornstein mentions, he will become eligible for a professional deal when he turns 17 later this year so we shall see how he progresses at Hale End.
