Origi, a Liverpool cult hero, has joined AC Milan on a free transfer.

After four years at Anfield, the Belgium international has signed a four-year contract with the Serie A winners.
Divock Origi has joined AC Milan on a free transfer, the Serie A winners have revealed.
The striker’s contract with Liverpool expired at the conclusion of last season, and he has chosen to join San Siro.

Origi, 27, spent four years with the Reds but made just 18 appearances in all competitions in 2021-22, with only seven of those coming in the Premier League.
Origi has signed a four-year contract with the Rossoneri, with his yearly pay rumoured to be in the neighbourhood of €4 million.

On June 9, Liverpool announced that the Belgium international will leave the club at the end of the month when his contract ended.

Milan’s offence is sparse after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract ended at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season, and it remains to be seen if he will continue playing following knee surgery that would keep him out of action for the rest of 2022.

With the possibility of the Sweden striker leaving, Olivier Giroud will be the sole identified centre striker in Stefano Pioli’s team.

Upon his arrival, Origi will be able to compete for a regular berth in Milan’s first squad.

This summer, Liverpool will make significant changes to their offensive.

In addition to Origi, the Reds have lost Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich in a €41 million (£35 million/$43 million) agreement, while Takumi Minamino has joined Monaco in a €18 million (£15.5 million/$19 million) transaction.
