“On Manchester United’s List For Years…” Romano Makes New Claim About Club’s Pursuit Of 85M Rated Midfielder

Manchester United are still “monitoring” Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Ecuadorian international is a player in high demand but, despite the interest from the Red Devils and other teams, Romano claims that the player is unlikely to be sold in January:

“Caicedo is not expected to leave in January, the situation is still the same. Liverpool, Man United but also other clubs are monitoring him; he’s been on Manchester United’s list for years but then nothing happened. I’m sure Brighton will try to keep him at least until June.”

Caicedo was actually a target for United (as well as Chelsea) before he joined Brighton and it seems the club’s recruitment department would be still keen on securing his services

The fact that the 20-year-old will only be available at the end of the season won’t concern Erik ten Hag’s side too much. Their priority for the next transfer window will be to replace Cristiano Ronaldo and they are unlikely to have the funds to sign both a forward and Caicedo.

Reports last month suggested that Brighton might hold out for as much as £85m for the midfielder, which is a fee that may put off a fair few potential buyers.
