Nigeria vs. South Africa in the Women’s AFCON StarTimes is broadcasting live.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons will begin their quest for another championship at the 2022 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with a match against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana on Monday, June 4 at 6 p.m.

The AFCON match will be televised live on StarTimes, the tournament’s official broadcaster.

Nigeria has won the championship eleven times, as has Equatorial Guinea twice, while South Africa and Cameroon are waiting in the wings, aiming to capture the trophy following the July 23 final.

Women’s football is gaining prominence and popularity across the world, and Africa is no exception.

Several African talents have signed for some of Europe’s greatest teams, including Nigerian Asisat Oshoala, who is a part of Barcelona’s Champions League-winning side.

The striker is only one of the players competing in the 14th edition of the Africa Women Cup of Nations, which begins on Saturday in Morocco.

Twelve nations participate in three groups, with the top two teams from each group, as well as the two best third-placed teams, progressing to the knock-out stage.

Nigeria and South Africa, the last AFCON finalists, have been drawn together in Group C.

“For football lovers across Africa, the event provides an opportunity to see the continent’s talents shine brilliantly, and no fan needs to miss out because the games will be aired live and in HD on StarTimes football channels,” said Lazarus Ibeabuchi, PR Manager, StarTimes Nigeria.
