Mohbad’s Father Responds to Wunmi’s Charge of Demanding Grandson’s Placenta
The father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, Oladimeji Joseph Aloba, has broken his silence following allegations that he demanded his grandson’s placenta after his birth.
According to reports, Mohbad’s wife, Omawunmi, revealed during her testimony before the Lagos coroner inquest on Tuesday that her relationship with her father-in-law, Oladimeji, deteriorated after the birth of her son, Liam.
She told the coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, that Mohbad’s father became enraged with her after she refused to hold Liam’s naming ceremony in Ikorodu.
Mohbad’s father, according to Omawunmi, believed she was driving a wedge between him and Mohbad, which strained their relationship.
She went on to say that their relationship was strained because she didn’t give him her son’s placenta.
Mohbad’s father responded to Wunmi’s allegations with a song on social media.
Joseph prayed for God’s mercy, claiming he was unaware of what he had done, which made him a topic of conversation everywhere.
He went on to say that history will decide whether he or Wunmi was correct in demanding Liam’s placenta.
He said, “God, please have mercy on me. They said I asked for the placenta of my own grandson. Doesn’t the son belong to the father? I don’t know what they said I did that they keep talking about me everywhere? May Adabi judge between us.”
