Manchester United supporters have been discussing whether the Red Devils should consider offering Joao Felix a chance to return to English football

The Portuguese international headed back to Atletico Madrid after a rather disappointing loan spell at Chelsea, but his parent club are not keen on keeping him.

With Felix also reportedly hoping for another spell in the Premier League, fans on Twitter have been debating whether United should make an offer to secure his services this summer:

Felix didn’t set the world alight during his time at Chelsea

You only have to look at the 23-year-old’s numbers during his six months at Stamford Bridge to see that bringing Felix to Old Trafford may not be the best idea.

Four goals and zero assists in 20 appearances is not the sort of return you would expect from a player who could still cost close to €100m (£85m).

United may consider a loan deal

If manager Erik ten Hag doesn’t want to take a risk on Felix, the Red Devils could always chance their arm by making a loan bid for the forward.

However, it is not known whether Atletico would be open to such an arrangement, having already allowed the Portuguese star to make a temporary switch to Chelsea. They may want to offload him permanently.

A deal for Felix could be something that is explored later on in the transfer window if attempts to sign other strikers prove fruitless.
