Manchester United started the 2022-2023 Premier League season with a defeat at Old Traford 1-2 by the Seagulls despite their strong lineup.
It was expected that Manchester United will get at least a point because they were playing at home and at the same time playing a weaker Brighton that sold some of their key players during this summer transfer.
The Red devil’s new manager Erik Ten Hag didn’t start with the star player Cristiano Ronaldo and, one could see that the team was not too good not until he was introduced and Christian Eriksen improved the midfield when he dropped deeper.
United were already 0-2 down before they were introduced, 30th minute and 39th minute goals from Pascal Gross with the first assist coming from the former Manchester United and Arsenal Man Danny Welbek.

There after, United was able to pull one back thanks to an own goal by Alexis MacAllister.
It wasn’t a complete surprise actually, English Premier League is known to be tough because no team can be under rated.
The toughness is the reason some players from abroad finds it difficult when they join the league.
However, Manchester United will have to improve as the season progress under the new manager Erik Ten Hag because he has taken lesson number 1, which is don’t leave your best players on the bench in EPL.
What Erik Ten Hag had to say
Erik ten Hag: "Of course definitely a setback and real disappointment. I knew from the start it would not be easy. We gave two easy balls away and it was not good in the organisation." #mulive [sky]
