Luis Enrique’s Chelsea Stance Revealed As It’s Claimed That The Blues Have ‘Offered’ 10M A Year Deal

Chelsea managerial target Luis Enrique is considering taking a year away from football, according to AS.

The Spanish publication claims to have heard of rumours that the Blues have “offered” the former Spain head coach a $12m (£10m) a season, three-year deal.

However, it is believed that Enrique is “tired” and he wouldn’t be against taking a twelve-month sabbatical to recharge his batteries.

Chelsea are not the only team said to be interested in hiring the 52-year-old, with Atletico Madrid reportedly considering him as a potential replacement for Diego Simeone. From the sound of things, though, he won’t be taking another job at this time.

In terms of other potential options, if Graham Potter is sacked in the coming days and weeks, the bookmakers have made ex-Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino the favourite. The likes of ex-Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, Sporting Lisbon head coach Ruben Amorim and even Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi have also been mentioned as possible candidates.
