Liverpool Table £30M Bid For Barca Midfield Dynamo Straight After Sealing Mac Allister Deal

Liverpool have made an offer in the region of €35m (£30m) to €40m (£34.5m) for Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie, according to reports in the Italian media.

Inter Milan are also interested in signing the Ivorian international but it is claimed that the Reds could outbid them for the player.

Kessie only joined Barca on a free transfer from AC Milan last year but he could be the victim of the La Liga club’s need to raise cash.

Manager Xavi has already expressed an interest in revamping his midfield, especially after the departure of Sergio Busquets, while at the same time, the club are keen on bringing Lionel Messi back to the Camp Nou.

Kessie is not a key player for Barcelona

While the 26-year-old played 43 times in all competitions this season, he only managed to start seven times in the league.

With Barca looking to make money from player sales, Kessie could be deemed as dispensable, with Liverpool seemingly looking to take advantage of the situation.

Liverpool’s transfer business is already in full swing

Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister is reportedly on the verge of sealing a move to Anfield, with the club expected to pay between £45m and £50m for the Argentinian international.

It is believed that the World Cup winner will sign a five-year contract with the Reds, with a medical also set to take place very soon.

With Mac Allister on board, it appears that manager Jurgen Klopp is trying to get business out of the way early, especially if the news about the Kessie bid is accurate.

The Merseysiders have also been linked with the likes of Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, Nice’s Khephren Thuram and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone, so we shall see who else comes in through the door at the AXA Training Centre over the coming days and weeks.
