Kalidou Koulibaly has ‘agreed personal terms’ with Chelsea as his move from Napoli approaches.

Chelsea have accepted personal terms with Kalidou Koulibaly, who may be the Blues’ second summer signing.

Raheem Sterling signed a five-year contract with the club earlier this week, marking the team’s first signing of the transfer window. Although no formal announcement has been made, the Englishman is expected to join Thomas Tuchel’s side in the United States this week.

Meanwhile, Chelsea has been hunting for a center-back reinforcement for quite some time. Tuchel has to sign at least two defenders this summer after losing Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid and Andreas Christensen to Barcelona on free transfers.

Many possibilities have been mentioned, including Manchester City’s Nathan Ake, who spent time at Chelsea earlier in his career. Koulibaly is another option.

According to sources, a deal for Koulibaly is currently nearing completion. Furthermore, Alfredo Pedulla of Sport Italia, an Italian transfer guru, has subsequently stated that the 31-year-old has accepted a five-year deal proposal for about £7.6 million-£8.4 million per year (around £180,000 per week).

Todd Boehly’s era is well and fully underway, from little money spent and a threadbare squad lacking depth and quality, to £120 million invested on three first-team players with more to come.

Tuchel still needs a few more players to contend for the Premier League with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool, but Chelsea are on the right track.
