Kalidou Koulibaly, a professional football player for Chelsea of the Premier League and the Senegal national team, was born on June 20, 1991. He plays center-defender. After beginning his professional club career in 2010 with the French team Metz, Koulibaly transferred to the Belgian club Genk in 2012, where he won the Belgian Cup in his debut year. In addition to winning the Supercoppa Italiana in 2014 and the Coppa Italia in 2020, he joined the Italian side Napoli in 2014.
Koulibaly was initially a member of the France national under-20 squad since he was bom in France to Senegalese parents, making him qualified to represent both countries at the international level. Background of Kalidou Koulibaly
Kalidou Koulibaly was born on the 20th day of June 1991 in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, France. The football genius was born to parents whom little is known about. His mother worked as a cleaner while his father was an employee at a sawmill.
Both parents are Africans who migrated from their ancestral lands in the West African country of Senegal to France in pursuit of better living conditions, a pivotal move which the football genius would commend them for decades later.
Koulibaly grew up with his younger brother Seoudou at his birthplace and hometown in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, France. It was at the commune in the Vosges department of northeastern France that Koulibly received his basic education at Vincent Auriol Elementary School and began playing for his hometown team SR Saint-Dié when he was only aged 8.

National Team Experience of Kalidou Koulibaly
Koulibaly qualified for dual citizenship because he was bora and reared in France by Senegalese parents. Beginning in 2011. he competed for the French under-20 squad, appearing six times during the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia.
Koulibaly joined the Senegal national football team in early September 2015, despite Didier Deschamps’ desire in calling him up to the Les Bleus. “I don’t have any regrets,” he subsequently said in a statement outlining his choice, “because I want to write the tale of the future of Senegal football and I think I’ll be able to achieve that.”
On September 5, 2015, Koulibaly made his AFCON qualifying debut against Namibia in a 2-0 win. He participated in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations as a member of the Senegal team.
He was included in Senegal’s 23-man roster for the 201S FIFA World Cup in Russia in May of that year. Senegal was ousted in the group stage of the competition after becoming the first team in FIFA World Cup history to be eliminated due to fair play tiebreaker regulations, and Koulibaly participated in all three games.
He was selected for Senegal’s 23-man squad in January 2022 for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. Senegal won it and helped his country in the final by scoring the first penalty against Egypt (0-0, 4-2 after penalty shootout).

Personal Life of Kalidou Koulibaly
Koulibaly is married to a French wife Known as Charline. The couples were interestingly born on the same day and in the same hospital. Apart from being a loving wife and mother, Charline helps Koulibaly overcome indecision. Notable among them was assisting the defender with his decision to choose to play for Senegal (country of origin).
It was revealed that Koulibaly has been made an honorary citizen of Naples in May 2019. He was previously recognized as a Saint-Dié- des-\bsges honorary citizen in April 2015. Koulibaly is so well-liked in Naples that a businessman named a pizza after him, and Koulibaly has expressed his love for the city.
He claims that his name came from the Quran and is a Muslim. Koulibaly is a French speaker who also converses in English and Italian.
Koulibaly spoke out against racism in Italian football for the whole of his stay at Napoli. He urged the Italian football authorities to combat racism by barring offenders from accessing stadiums for the rest of their lives in October 2019. In January ofthat year, he had earlier criticized the Italian football authorities for doing nothing to combat racism.
