Jack Wilshere: Mikel Arteta Would Not Have Cristiano Ronaldo At Arsenal
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, according to Jack Wilshere, will not be interested in recruiting Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
Following his divisive conversation with journalist Piers Morgan, Ronaldo is largely anticipated to depart United in the January transfer window.
Ronaldo took aim at United’s owners during the interview, and he also stated that he did not respect manager Erik ten Hag.
It is unclear where Ronaldo will head next, but Wilshere believes it will not be at the Emirates Stadium.
On Monday, Wilshere spoke on talkSPORT alongside former Tottenham striker Darren Bent, who was signed by Arsenal as head coach of the club’s Under 18 squad in July.

“I still think he’d offer something for the younger players to look at, [for them to] see how he lives, see how he does things,” Wilshere said.

Bent immediately intervened, saying, “You wouldn’t accept him at Arsenal, no way.” You wouldn’t accept Arteta with what he’s developing today.”
Wilshere continued: “I don’t think Mikel would have him.”
After being asked whether he would sign Ronaldo if he were in charge at Arsenal, Wilshere took a long pause before replying: “No.”
Wilshere seemed a little torn on the subject though as he added: “I don’t think he’s bad. Obviously what he has done is really bad but he doesn’t have a track record of that, does he? He stayed at Madrid for years.”
Radio presenter Andy Goldstein, who is a United fan, then chimed in to say: “But you can’t throw your toys out of the pram like that.”
In conclusion, Wilshere said: “No you can’t… unless you’re Ronaldo.”
