‘Is It April 1st?’ ‘This Can’t Be True’ ‘What’s Wrong With This Club?’ Fans React As Chelsea Consider Re Signing Former Player For 71M

Chelsea will consider re-signing Roma striker Tammy Abraham this summer, according to reports in the English media.

The Blues inserted an €80m (£71m) buyback clause when they sold the England international in 2021, which can be triggered at the end of this season. However, Abraham has been poor during his second campaign in Italy, scoring just seven times in 33 appearances, and fans on Twitter are very much against bringing the forward back to Stamford Bridge:

For £71m, there are plenty of other options in the transfer market. You could recruit Juventus’s Dusan Vlahovic for that amount or perhaps even snap up Joao Felix on a permanent basis from Atletico Madrid.

Abraham is a decent striker but his erratic finishing and average hold-up play put him in the same bracket as some of the other forwards that the Blues have had in recent years. He is by no means the world-class number nine that the club desperately needs.
