Arsenal can snap up Palmeiras midfielder Danilo if they offer €25m (£21.7m) for the player in January, according to journalist Jorge Nicola.
The Gunners reportedly had a similar bid rejected before the transfer window closed at the start of September but Nicola says that Palmeiras will be more open to doing business now:
“If Arsenal can repeat their €25million offer for Danilo, Palmeiras should end up negotiating a sale for the player.”
It is believed the main reason why Palmeiras didn’t accept the proposal in the summer was because they were still midway through their season but, with the Brazilian Serie A campaign having ended earlier this month, that is no longer a problem.
Arsenal were very keen on signing a midfielder before September’s transfer deadline. In addition to their interest in Danilo, Mikel Arteta’s side also tabled multiple bids for Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz.
Whether their priorities have changed ahead of January, we shall have to wait and see, but Danilo will be available if they want to revisit the deal.
