Despite an approach by Chelsea, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang wants to stay at Barcelona.

According to Spanish media, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang want to stay at Barcelona despite getting an offer from Chelsea.

Chelsea have already strengthened their attack with the signing of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City, but they are also hoping to recruit a new striker before the conclusion of the summer window, after the return of Romelu Lukaku to Inter.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang joined Barcelona in February, but the acquisition of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich has cast doubt on the striker’s future at Camp Nou.

Barcelona is also aiming to reduce its salary cost by offloading some of its high-earning players, and the club is already attempting to unload Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay.

Chelsea have now approached Aubameyang’s entourage to explore a possible summer move to Stamford Bridge.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Aubameyang wants to stay in Barcelona and has no plans to leave Camp Nou so soon after coming.

According to the source, Aubameyang does not feel intimidated by Barcelona’s plan to sign Lewandowski, and Xavi wants the former Arsenal captain to stay at the club as well.

According to a source close to Aubameyang, ‘Auba is really pleased in Barcelona and is not thinking about leaving.’

Aubameyang’s current deal with Barcelona expires in 2025, although he has an option to leave the club the following year.

Tuchel is said to have advocated Aubameyang’s acquisition to Chelsea’s management since he still has a good rapport with the striker from their time together at Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea sought to recruit Aubameyang during Frank Lampard’s tenure, but were turned down due to the 33-year-pay old’s demands.
