Dbanj’s sister faces jail time after being found guilty of contempt in a divorce suit with her ex-husband, Do2dtun.
Taiwo Oyebanjo, the estranged wife of media star Do2dtun, has been found guilty of violating a court order relating joint custody of their children by the Abuja High Court sitting in Dukpa.
According to reports, Taiwo, Dbanj’s younger sister, was found guilty of contempt of court on Monday and faces jail time in a divorce suit filed in Abuja.
In action No. GWD/ PET/25/21, the court gave Dotun and his estranged wife shared custody of the children after Dotun filed for it in April 2022, and both parties originally cooperated.
Taiwo has been denying her estranged spouse access to their children since December 2022, despite a court order. As a result, Dotun sought legal remedy, sparking a recent full-fledged and intense social media dispute between the two.
The court declared and found Taiwo guilty of breaking the court’s order in the contempt proceedings against her, finding that her reluctance to provide Do2dtun access and custody of the children in December 2022 constituted disobedience to the Court’s Order.
The court also ordered Dbanj’s sister to pay the sum of N200,000 within 30 days or face jail time.
Taiwo, who was not present in court, is accused of transporting the children out of Nigeria since June 2023.
