Conor Gallagher scored the game-winning goal in Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Crystal Palace in Graham Potter’s first Premier League game as manager. Gallagher collected a pass from fellow substitute Christian Pulisic, created a yard of space for himself, and then twisted the ball around Vicente Guaita in the Palace goal during the pre-match warm-up.
Earlier, Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang scored his first goal for Chelsea in the 38th minute, capitalizing on a headed assist by Thiago Silva. Odsonne Edouard had given the Eagles the lead in the seventh minute.

Palace were enraged because referee Chris Kavanagh had only awarded Silva a yellow card for denying Jordan Ayew a run on goal by handling a few minutes before Silva set up Aubameyang for his goal. Manager Patrick Vieira received a yellow card for arguing with Kavanagh about his decision not to red card Silva.
