Chris Wheatley Reveals The 2 Reasons Why Arsenal Have A “Pretty Good Chance” Of Winning 120M Transfer Battle

Arsenal have a “pretty good chance” of signing West Ham captain Declan Rice next summer, according to journalist Chris Wheatley.

The reliable reporter was speaking to National World TV about the Gunners’ interest in the England international. He claims the player is intrigued by the project at the Emirates, while his friendship with Bukayo Saka could also help matters:

“I think they have a pretty good chance of signing Declan Rice this summer “He’s a player that Mikel Arteta really likes. I think from Rice’s side as well, there’s a curiosity and intrigue on joining Arsenal, especially with the season that is currently ongoing. I think Declan Rice is seeing that Arsenal are really on the up under Mikel Arteta. And, as well, he has friends in the team. Bukayo Saka is one of his best mates in the England setup.”

Hammers boss David Moyes has already stated that Rice will cost a British record transfer fee if he does leave the London Stadium at the end of the season, with some reports suggesting that the asking price is £120m (plus add-ons).

In addition to Arsenal, the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United are also keen on the midfielder, although it appears that Mikel Arteta’s side have managed to move ahead of their rivals in the race for the player’s signature in recent months.

From Wheatley’s remarks, it appears Rice is open to a switch to the Gunners so this is definitely a transfer story to keep an eye on.
