Chelsea will look for their second consecutive win over a first-place club when they face Manchester City in a 2023-24 English Premier League encounter on Sunday.
The Blues (4-3-4) are 10th in the Premier League league, but they defeated Tottenham 4-1 at Hotspur Stadium on Monday. This enabled City (9-0) to take over first place heading into Matchweek 12.
The Citizens, who won the title for the sixth time in six years last season, have won five straight games overall. In that time, they have defeated Young Boys twice in the Champions League, most recently 3-1 on Wednesday.
A number of Chelsea’s injured absentees are getting closer to returning, however Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia remain out for the time being.
Enzo Fernandez and Reece James, who requested to be left out of England’s squad this week, should be eligible to play.
Manchester City experienced an injury setback in midweek Champions League play as John Stones exited the field with a knock. Pep Guardiola stated that his team might be “in trouble” if the versatile defender is out for an extended length of time.
He was unable to provide a timetable for his comeback ahead of this game, and it is also unknown whether Kevin De Bruyne would be healthy after a lengthy layoff.
Chelsea vs Manchester City is due to kick off at 4.30pm GMT on Sunday 12 November at Stamford Bridge.
