Chelsea news: Man Utd receive Cristiano Ronaldo offer as N’Golo Kante edges closer to £18m exit
Chelsea news and gossip, including the latest on Cristiano Ronaldo, N’Golo Kante, and Mason Mount.
Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo appears likely to depart Old Trafford in the January transfer window, following a stunning chat with Piers Morgan.
Several teams, including Chelsea, were connected with a bid for Ronaldo during the summer transfer season when American owner Todd Boehly spoke with the Portuguese striker’s agent Jorge Mendes.
Following the explosive interview with Piers Morgan, one chance for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has suddenly become open, with A-League CEO Danny Townsend providing Ronaldo an escape path to travel to Australia.
“[Ronaldo] stated he wasn’t receiving any love and respect at Manchester United, but we’ll surely give him plenty of love and respect in Australia,” Townend said in remarks carried by News Corp.
“We may not be able to compete with other proposals monetarily, but we can compete in other areas.” Obviously, it’s a long shot, but we have a compelling idea for him to explore here in Australia.”

Juventus and Inter target N’Golo Kante £18m January transfer
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Kante’s future at Chelsea, Inter Milan and Juventus are considering a January deal for the Blues midfielder, according to La Repubblica.
According to the source, both Italian teams are willing to spend a £18 million price to secure Kante ahead of any other clubs that may try to recruit him as a free agent this summer.
Chelsea would almost probably prefer to receive a return on their investment rather than have the Frenchman go on a free transfer at the conclusion of the season, as happened with fan favourite Rudiger last season.
