Chelsea Activate The Release Clause Of £35M Rated Crystal Palace Star As They Line Up Next Deal After Lavia

Chelsea remain interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, according to Football.London.

The Blues have been focused on getting deals over the line for Moises Caicedo and Southampton’s Romeo Lavia but they all still said to be contemplating a bid for Olise as well.

One of the reasons why the London club have not pushed ahead with an offer for the France Under 21 International so far this summer is due to the fact that the player has been sidelined with a torn hamstring.

However, Football.London claim that they have kept in touch with Olise’s entourage, having made contact once more in “recent days” as they consider their next move.

Personal terms are not expected to be an issue, and it has been reported by multiple sources that the 21-year-old has a £35M+ release clause too, so we are now waiting to see when Chelsea will pull the trigger.

Olise has been back out on the grass

The winger has taken to social media over the past few days to share images of himself back in light training so his recovery from a hamstring injury appears to be going well.

It was claimed that Olise will be back at some point in late September or early October so he may be slightly ahead of schedule. Whether that will be enough for Chelsea to make an approach before the transfer window closes, it is up for debate.

Other teams could battle Chelsea for the player’s signature

Manchester City are also known to be keen admirers of Olise, and they see him as a great replacement for Riyad Mahrez, who left for Saudi Arabia last month.

However, the Premier League champions have also looked at Rennes winger Jeremy Doku and, if they do snap up the Belgian international over the next couple of weeks, it would clear a path for Chelsea to sign Olise.
