Bayern Munich defeated Inter Milan 2-0 thanks to a header from Benjamin Pavard and a fantastic goal from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, completing the German champions’ 100 percent Champions League group stage record.
Nicolo Barella forced Bayern goalkeeper Sven Ulreich into a fantastic save before they were denied a penalty after Bayern’s Sadio Mane used two hands to deflect Barella’s thundering shot away from his face in the area.
Inter’s centre striker Lautaro Martinez also squandered a decent chance before Pavard drilled a downward header beyond Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana into the far corner to give Bayern the lead, with Sadio Mane and Kingsley Coman both coming close before halftime.
With both sides having already qualified for the Round of 16 from the so-called ‘Group of Death,’ the second half at the Allianz Arena threatened to fizzle out before Choupo-Moting rifled in a superb shot from the edge of the area to seal the result — that’s seven goals in his last six games for the 33-year-old Cameroon striker.
The win also extended Bayern’s five-year undefeated streak in the group stage of this competition to 34 games, with 31 victories.

Bayern had won all six of their Champions League group games for the third time in four seasons, with just a tie against Atletico Madrid in 2020/21 avoiding a fourth clean sweep.
The six-time winners, who last won the championship in 2020, appear to be in good shape for another deep run in the tournament this time around.
