Ayra Starr Talks About Her Life Before Fame
Ayra Starr, a Nigerian musician, has revealed that she peddled vegetables and fruits with her grandmother for six years before becoming famous.
The 21-year-old revealed this in an Instagram post on Monday, with a photo of four ladies selling fruits at a market.
She captioned the shot as follows:
“6 years ago this used to be me selling vegetables and fruits with my grandma singing to whomever wanted to hear me. Now people are paying to watch me perform. Will forever be grateful for where I am in my life, God really blessed me.”
The singer, who is signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records, captured the attention of the Nigerian public when her debut single, ‘Away,’ was released in 2021.
She launched her debut album, 19 and Dangerous, in August, earning her the number two slot on Billboard’s Next Big Sound list that month.
