Ayra Starr is pleased after receiving a Grammy nomination
Ayra Starr, a young Afrobeats singer, took to Twitter to celebrate her first Grammy nomination.
The “Rush” singer was nominated for Best African Music Performance for her song, and she is up against other Nigerian musicians Davido, Burna Boy, and Olamide.
Ayra Starr is the first and youngest Nigerian female artist to be nominated in this category, and the 21-year-old couldn’t believe her good fortune at being nominated for the world’s most prestigious music awards.
She took to her X account to say;
“Ayra Grammy nominated Starr !!! It’s only you Jesus , only you !”
The honor will be presented during the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2024 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
