Arteta Pushing Arsenal To Make Move 3 Time Champions League Winner Who Could Be Sold In January

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen for the Gunners to make a move for Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio in January, according to Fichajes.net.

The Spanish rumour mongers claim that Arteta is the “main supporter” for Asensio’s signature and he wants to bring in the three-time Champions League winner when the transfer window reopens.

Asensio is closing in on the final six months of his contract at the Bernabeu and Arsenal could consider snapping him up on a free transfer ahead of next summer. However, Arteta wants him earlier than that.

He is very aware that the club need to add depth to the squad if they want to sustain a title challenge and signing a player who can take some of the weight off the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli is very important.

Considering Asensio’s contract situation, it’s likely that he’ll be available for a knockdown price too, so there is a chance that this transfer story does have some legs.
