Arsenal Told They Have A “Precarious Situation” With First Team Star As Real Madrid Are Backed To Make Summer Bid

Radio Marca and OK Diario journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon has backed Real Madrid to make a move for Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka next summer.

The La Liga champions are also interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham but, while watching England’s 6-2 win over Iran on Monday, Alvarez de Mon suggested Saka could become a target due to his contract situation:

“The two players I especially wanted to see were Jude Bellingham, a Real Madrid target, and Bukayo Saka . As far as I know, this is not a Real Madrid target, but he could be in the future because he has very good conditions and complements what Real Madrid needs right now. The young English player is 21 years old and plays on the right, and could offer some opportunity in the future”

“Arsenal is trying to renew him like crazy because it ends in 2024 and the next, if he doesn’t end up renewing, Arsenal would have a precarious situation. In the next few months, a situation will arise that could be solved for Arsenal, or get complicated. I think that there, with only one year [left on the] contract, Real Madrid would have to enter because it enters into the club’s transfer policy. There are several reasons to think that it could be interesting for the future.”

As Alvarez de Mon points out, Saka will have one year remaining on his current deal at the end of the season and negotiations over an extension have been ongoing for a number of months without a breakthrough.

The Gunners remain confident that an agreement will be reached, but it has been reported that they will have to treble the player’s wages from £70,000 a week to over £200,000 a week.

Other teams, including Manchester City and Arsenal, have also been mentioned as potential suitors but the presence of Real Madrid in the race may hasten talks with Saka to ensure he signs on the dotted line with the Gunners.
