Palace are in the hunt for a striker, given their struggles on the goalscoring front – they have turned their attention to Balogun as a solution to this issue. According to Taylor, Arsenal are seeking a £35 million fee for the player.
“They lack a bit of productivity in terms of guaranteed output. You see some of these teams in the bottom half of the table, they’ve got strikers that can deliver the goods.
“Palace never really seem to have the goals in the side. If they’ve got the money, someone like Balogun or Eddie Nketiah. If you can get Balogun for £35m, I think he’d be brilliant. I think he would hit 15 goals.”
Who else, besides Crystal Palace, are interested in a move for Folarin Balogun?
Balogun is one of the most highly sought-after players in world football at this moment – the Eagles are far from the only club in the race to snap him up.
AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Inter Milan, LOSC Lille and Brentford have all been linked with a move for the 22-year-old over the course of the summer transfer window.
As such, interest in the player is very high – currently, he does seem to have a preference as to where he would rather go.
Should Arsenal hold on to Folarin Balogun?
Before Saturday’s result, some Arsenal fans may have pointed towards Balogun as being the Gunners’ best striker – however, Eddie Nketiah impressed everyone with a brilliant performance.
It’s likely that Arteta does not see Nketiah as a long term solution to Arsenal’s striker issues, but it also appears clear that Balogun is behind the 24-year-old in the pecking order.
With so many clubs interested in Balogun, including Crystal Palace, it would probably be the best move for all parties involved if the player moves on in the ongoing transfer window.
