Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are all keeping tabs on Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, according to Goal Spain.
The 20-year-old was named in Spain’s World Cup despite only making his debut back in September, and he has been used as a substitute by manager Luis Enrique in both group games so far.
Williams is the younger brother of Inaki Williams, who plays for Ghana. Both were born in the Basque country, making them eligible to play for Bilbao, but Nico’s older sibling opted to represent the nationality of his parents.
In terms of a potential transfer, Nico will have just eighteen months left on his contract in January so it’s unlikely that Bilbao will be able to hold out for the €50m (£43m) release clause in the player’s contract.
With that being the case, it is unsurprising that Arsenal have taken an interest in him, with the London club actively looking to strengthen their options in wide areas.
