Arsenal lost 0-1 to Everton in which makes it the 2nd defeat in EPL 2022/2023 season

Full time: Everton 1 Arsenal 0

Dyche, the players, the fans, all must scarcely be able to believe they gave the league-leaders a bloody nose on home. Their winless run is over, and they’ve swiped it from a team unbeaten since September.

Everton thoroughly deserved that win, after displaying so much fight, and may even feel hard done by not to have snared a second goal.

Sean Dyche has promised to restore Everton to their glory days of the 1980s. His first day in command was more evocative of Joe Royle’s mid-90s ‘dogs of war,’ as they secured the Premier League season’s shock outcome.

There were 90s echoes all over Goodison Park as Arsenal were defeated for only the second time in the league.

The rescue mission of Royle began in 1994 with a spectacular Duncan Ferguson header from Andy Hinchcliffe’s corner in front of the Gwladys Street stand.

Here was James Tarkowski meeting Dwight McNeil’s delivery, with Arsenal taking the place of Liverpool as the team facing a physical and emotional tour de force.
