Arsenal hold positive talks with Mykhaylo Mudryk ahead of possible January transfer
According to talkSPORT, Arsenal have conducted constructive conversations with Shakhtar Donetsk striker Mykhaylo Mudryk about a January move.
The Gunners were interested in the 21-year-old pacey winger last summer as they attempted to add depth to their squad, but a deal fell through.
They have kept an eye on the Ukrainian star after his hot start to the season, in which he has 14 goal contributions (seven goals, seven assists) in as many games.
Mudryk’s form has been crucial to Shakhtar’s championship defence this season, as he has already eclipsed his total goal contribution tally from the previous season (11).
According to reports, some Shakhtar players joked that the Ukrainian is now an Arsenal player.
Sporting director Carlo Nicolini also confirmed the Gunners’ interest but declared they will only let their star man leave for a fee of around £85 million.
Arsenal presently leads the Premier League table by two points over defending champions Manchester City.

While the Gunners pursue their first league title since the 2003/04 season, Mikel Arteta and the club’s administration understand that they must enhance their squad depth if they are to capitalise on their recent success.
They have now collected 34 points out of a possible 39 after winning 11 of 13 games (D1, L1) against four of the traditional top six clubs in the English Premier League, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea.
While they plan a winter buying binge that might include bringing in a winger, another player could leave the Emirates Stadium, with Arsenal considering loaning out Marquinhos.
Despite appearing four times and registering a goal and an assist, the Brazilian superstar is considered as a future player rather than a competitor for Bukayo Saka. He might be temporarily shipped away to play regular football.
When Arsenal go to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend, they will be hoping to enter the international break on a high note.
They will, however, try to extend their winning streak when they host Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
