Arsenal failed to grab the whole 3 points as the played 1-1 draw against Brentford at the Emirate Stadium

Brentford hung on for a 1-1 draw tonight as Arsenal struggled to find a goal.

The Gunners had a strong start but were unable to capitalize on their dominance. Despite applying lots of pressure, David Raya in the Bees goal was hardly challenged, and the limited openings at the other end were the more dangerous.

Ivan Toney actually had the ball in the net, but it was ruled out for a foul in the build-up, while we continued to throw our efforts over or wide of the goalposts.

Toney had the best chance of the half later on in the opening 45, when he smashed his effort off the crossbar, and we ultimately ended up happy to go into the break level.

On the hourmark Arteta finally made his first change, bringing off Gabriel Martinelli for new signing Leandro Trossard, and it didn’t take long for that to pay off. The substitute found the net just minutes after coming on, closing out a team move from close range.

We were about to make our supremacy pay when we found ourselves back at square one. Ivan Toney punished us for failing to clear the ball from our area, and we were given 15 minutes to find a winner, despite VAR ruling on a possible offside.

Unfortunately, there was little excitement to be had after that, as the game threatened to be spoiled by a late brawl deep into injury time following a poor tackle on Oleksandr Zinchenko, but it simply wasn’t to be.

And it beginning to look like a seasonal blip for Arsenal again.
