The visitors made it interesting late, but Arsenal held on to keep their lead in the Premier League table for another week!
Wolves deserve credit for not giving up after the early assault, and they once again made life tough for a great English team.
2-0 ahead on Wolves and fresh off a 6-0 demolition of Lens in the Champions League, Arsenal appeared to be on their way to another home romp through the first 20 minutes.
However, like they have done several times this season, Gary O’Neil’s team refused to back down from a top-tier Premier League challenge, clawing their way back into the game and making things tight in the final stages.
However, it wasn’t enough to overcome early goals from Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, as Arsenal won 2-1 to maintain their lead atop the Premier League standings.
The last minutes were tight thanks to Matheus Cunha’s 86th-minute strike, but Wolves were unable to take another top-seven scalp.
Arsenal now leads the standings by four points, with second-placed Manchester City hosting fifth-placed Tottenham tomorrow in an attempt to keep pace. Wolves, meanwhile, plummet to 13th after the defeat, trailing Crystal Palace on goal differential.
