Credit Transfer
Students applying for admission who wish to transfer credit from a federal or licensed institution in the UAE, or from a foreign institution of higher learning based outside the UAE and accredited in its home country, must provide evidence, as outlined in the admission procedure, that will allow the Academic Committee to make a decision on the transfer.
- For MSc and Ph.D. programs, the maximum number of transfer credits that can be accepted for a given degree program is 25% of total credit hours.
- Transfers will be approved only for students in good academic standing who are qualified to return to their current or previous university.
- MBZUAI will accept credit transfers only for courses relevant to the degree that provide equal learning objectives and in which the student received a B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) or higher.
- The grade for the transfer credit course will appear on the transcript as a “TC.” The authorized transfer credits will be applied to the credit hours but will not be considered in the GPA computation.
- The course transfer credits may not have previously been utilized to fulfill the requirements of any other graduate degree in any graduate program.
- The course credits must have been completed no more than two years previous to the student’s enrollment into the MBZUAI program.
- The MBZUAI Academic Committee will have the last say on whether to approve or reject any student’s transfer request.
