Despite being turned down for the winger, United manager Erik ten Hag is thought to be keen on bringing him to Old Trafford before the transfer window closes.

Erik ten Hag is also keen on bringing Dutch international Cody Gakpo to Manchester United. Last season, the PSV star made his Holland debut during EURO 2020 and scored 21 goals in all competitions.
The 23-year-old has made an immediate impact for PSV this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in just three appearances in all competitions for last season’s Eredivisie runners-up.
However, new acquisition Casemiro will miss United’s match against Liverpool on Monday because the club were unable to complete the deal for the Brazilian midfielder in time to register him before the Friday 12pm deadline.
