Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has dropped another big hint that he is targeting a move to the Premier League.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal have all been mentioned as potential suitors in recent weeks and the Ukrainian has confirmed he is currently learning to speak English:
“I have given maybe a dozen interviews in English. I’ve been studying English for a long time.”
Up until recently, it wasn’t believed that United would be looking to secure any major transfers during the January transfer window but that is likely to change now Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to leave Old Trafford.
Mudryk’s asking price, though, is going to be a major stumbling block. Shakhtar’s sporting director Darijo Srna has spoken out to say that they will not consider selling the 21-year-old for less than €100m (£87m).
For a player who has played just 63 senior games in Ukrainian football that seems to be an excessive valuation. The player himself has already expressed his dismay about the price tag so we shall see if he tries to force a move away from Shakhtar.
