The Gunners are believed to be keeping close tabs on the Spaniard and, when asked about how he felt that so many big clubs are interested in signing him, the defender replied:
“I’m proud, but I always say it: I’m also at a big club, Valladolid.”
Fresneda has also confirmed that he is learning English and German, stating he “likes to learn languages”, although you don’t really need to read between the lines to see that he is clearly anticipating a potential move abroad this summer.
The teenager does have a €30m (£26.4m) release clause, although most reports have suggested that Valladolid would probably accept a fee lower than that.
Considering Takehiro Tomiyasu’s fitness problems, recruiting a right-back is likely to be a priority and, considering Arsenal’s previous interest in Fresneda, it seems clear that an approach for the player could happen at the end of the season.
